Q: How much is the cost?
A: A Standard Sweeping Visit costs £60 per chimney, out of our area going up to £75 per chimney.
Q: What's our availability?
A: Availability are as follows (we regularly keep this page up to date)
Between 1st January to the 31st August = 3 to 7 days.
Between 1st September to the 31th December = 5 to 14 days.
Q: How and when do I pay?
A: Payment is due on completion of work.
We accept Cash, Card Payments and Bank Transfers.
We no longer accept cheques.
Bank Transfer must be completed while the engineer is with you, failure to do so could result in a £25 admin charge.
Q: Do we work Saturday's?
A: Yes we do, but trying to keep them to a minimum and they can only be booked over the phone.
We would try to encourage you to go for an early morning or an early evening appointment where possible.
Q: What are our normal working hours?
A: First appointment is 8am, thereafter all appointments are a 2 hour slot (i.e. between 9-11am, 10-12pm and so on) with the last appointment being between 4-6pm.
We answer our telephones between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Saturday between 9am and 1pm.
Q: Do I need to do anything before the sweep arrive?
A: Yes the following is highly recommended:-
1. Please ensure the fire is totally out and cold.
2. The fire place is clear of all ash and cinders.
3. Your hearth clear and an area of about 6 feet square in front of your place also.
If the above is not met and is in an excessive way it could result in an additional charge.
Q: Do we issue certificates?
A: Yes but you will need to request this at the visit. We send them out via email normally within two weeks
Q: How much public liability insurance do we have?
A: Our public liability insurance covers us up to 10 million pounds, which is higher than most most, as we work on stately homes, council contracts etc. You can see a copy of our current Public & Product Liability Insurance Certificate Here. and Employers Liability Insurance Certificate Here.
